Freshly Brewed Mango Banana Beer

Here’s the label for my latest batch of home-brewed beer. I used 4 large ripe mangoes and 2 bananas in the high-test (i.e. high alc, strong) beer batch. I didn’t “add” some garbage flavoring after the fermentation was done (like most breweries do); I fermented the mangoes and bananas right along with the hops, barley, etc. This beer isn’t candied like some flavored beers. It’s got a delicate floral undertone thanks to the mangoes, but the flavor doesn’t dominate at all. It’s quite good and quite potent!

The 8% alc rating is an understatement. Sheesh!

Funny Comedian

I stumbled upon a website with short video clips of Louis C.K.‘s comedy shows. The website design is horrid, but the movie clips are hilarious. I usually yawn at most comedian’s routines, but this guy had me laughing out loud. Louis C.K. reminds me a little of our friend Adam B from SoCal – similar goofy humor!

More Guitars, Fewer Excuses

My friend Joe recently moved to NYC. Before he left, he unloaded most of his belongings to make the trip easier. Bequeathed to me were three guitars – a home-made electric, a full-acoustic and a Delta King hollow body electric jazz/blues guitar. These three guitars join my previously lonely Yamaha acoustic-electric. Now I have four guitars and no remaining excuses for not getting back into playing. (Though I could use a new 15″ Powerbook with GarageBand!! That would help!)
