My Two Favorite Pics From Friday’s Trip

Of all the photos Codi and I took, I keep going back to look at these two.

This is a photo of a barge moving along the Columbia river toward Portland. I loved the fact that it says “WATER”. Even the reflection of the letters can be seen in the water.

This cloud is awesome. I love the deep color of the sky and the bright whites of the cloud. The shape reminds me of a Chinese dragon coiled for striking!

A Great Day in Astoria

Codi and I found out that there’s a jetboat that runs from downtown Portland to Astoria, Oregon on the coast, so we decided to take a day off and see what Astoria is like. We learned that Astoria is a major shipping center with a maritime history going back to the early 1800′s. In fact, Astoria was the very first American settlement west of the Rocky Mountains! Cool!

As I mentioned last night, we took about 500 photos. I’ve uploaded a few for your viewing pleasure. I’ve kept the images low-res to save server space.

Sleepy Moon

Codi and I spent an entire day (7am till 8pm) going to Astoria and back. We took over 500 photos and wound up with about 470 keepers. We’re both too tired to move, so photos will be posted tomorrow, though not all 470!

For now, here’s what we’re looking at off our balcony. =) It must be really warm all the way up into the atmosphere because the shape of the moon is wavy like a mirage.

Stained Glass & More in Lake O

Codi went shopping for a dress for a wedding, and I went off to take some photos. I spotted some cool stained glass last weekend, so I went back to that spot and shot a few frames.

Some ivy growing on the side of a building. Very pretty, in my opinion.
