Hysterically Laughing Out Loud
Posted on August 29, 2005
I found a really funny website this evening. Two articles are making me laugh so hard I have tears in my eyes!
The All-Natural Prank
Excerpt: “The gastrointestinal effects of my initial taste test were minimal, except for violent eruptions of gas throughout the night. These deep tuba notes were completely odorless (perhaps they had been washed clean), but almost disturbingly loud. One honk of the trombone, which occurred at 3:00 am, was so noisome that it actually roused my wife from a deep slumber. “Cut it out,” she mumbled, then rolled over and went back to sleep.”
And of course, The Viagra Prank

Portland Rose Gardens
Posted on August 28, 2005
Codi and I went to the Portland Rose Gardens again yesterday. It was gorgeous there! The roses were huge and some of the bushes were over 7 feet tall!
Some of the roses are single-colored, but this one was very vibrant with colors.
Inside a rose…
Of course, there were lots of bees, but they were minding their own business and never bothered us.
These roses remind me a little of lily pads.
Here we are on the steps of the ampitheater at the Rose Gardens…
Here’s me attacking Codi with a kiss…
I realized that I’ve never seen a photo of the back side of a rose. I think this one looks pretty cool.
Reminds me of an elephant’s ears…
Here we are again…
Codi took some black & white photos as well. I like these two…

I changed the settings on the camera to produce high contrast, high saturation images – sort of like LOMO photography. I like the effect, though it could have been a bit more dramatic.
We ended our day with a dinner at the new Zao Noodle Bar. Awesome asian foods!
I spotted this roof at Bridgeport. I like the shapes and colors. Nothing boring at Bridgeport!
These colors caught my attention, too. I like the symmetry of this building.

Awesome Garage Sale
Posted on August 27, 2005
Codi and I went to downtown Portland and got sidetracked by a sign that said “Huge Sale”. We had time to spare, so we checked it out. The drive up the mountain was so long and windy, I would have turned back several times if I was by myself. Codi was persistent, and it’s a good thing. We totally scored some good loot!
Codi found a vintage reflex camera and a vintage Gucci wallet for $3. Hello eBay for $50!
I found two excellent cameras (Canon AE1 and a Bell & Howell/Canon FD35) and a handful of lens filters for $22 total! I’m eBaying one of the filters to make up for the entire purchase.
Here’s the Canon AE1 – the very same camera that I got back in 1982. I won a photography award with this camera, and I also got several pictures published in Field & Stream magazine with this camera in 1986! Olde school fun!
I also found a $150 painting easel for $34!
