Codi and I went to a concert in downtown Lake Oswego with our new friends, Nino and Patricia. The band was Gypsy Soul, and the music rocked. The guitar player especially blew me away with some of the fastest, most accurate and kickass playing I’ve heard in a long time.
Here’s a sample song they did – it’s a cover of Stevie Wonder’s Superstition. Here’s another sample from the website. I wish they had live recordings from concerts like the one they did in Lake O.
Nice weather out! A bit cloudy, but an amazing summer evening…

The small-ish crowd that enjoyed the concert…
Gypsy Soul guitarist, Roman Morykit…
They had a guest drummer who played an instrument called a “calabash”. It was like an entire drum set squeezed into one watermellon-sized half-shpere that looked like an upside-down salad bowl.
