Portland Blues Festival

Codi and I missed the Blues Festival last year, so we were pretty excited to make it to this year’s event.

The music was great – so good, that I bought a bluesy bluegrass CD – something I never thought I’d do. This one band, “Chris Ardoin And NuStep”, was a lot of fun. It makes for great BBQ music, a lively house-cleaning soundtrack, etc.

Here’s the “Chris Ardoin And NuStep” band…

This guitarist played very well, but he didn’t look too excited. In retrospect, I think he may have been looking at the dancers and thinking something like “I left the bayou for this?!”

The area in front of the stage was packed with dancers – some good, some bad, and some were just plain funny. This guy looked like he was doing the chicken, the wave, the boogaloo AND tae-bo all at the same time.

Of course, no blues concert is complete without some unnecessary crackage…
