Even though I don’t own a Mac, I decided to go to the Tiger release event at the Apple Store in Tigard. I got there pretty early because I expected a crowd. When I got there, I was the only one there. That was an odd feeling. People started showing up after a while, though.
This super old guy sat next to me. I thought he was taking a rest from walking around in the mall. A few minutes later, he whipped out a 15″ Powerbook and started working on stuff. It was funny to see such an old dude with such an awesome laptop. After that, a deaf couple walked by. I don’t understand sign language, but it looked like the guy was trying to convince his girl to stay for the event. They went out for a sandwich and returned to wait in line with everyone else. A thought occurred to me – deaf people can talk clearly to one another even with their mouths full of food.
One of the Apple Store employees took pictures of the crowd waiting for the event. I took a picture of him taking a picture. When we were finally let into the store, a dozen or more Apple employees greeted everyone in a huge high-five line-up. It was uber-geek heaven. If I wasn’t such a computer nut, I’d have been laughing at everyone. =)
