February 22, 2005 – 8:17 pmReady to sell my TV today for cash, I went to Staples and bought one of those pens that detect whether currency is fake or not. I tested a few $1 bills and a $5 - all passed. I tested a plain piece of paper and it failed with black/brown marks. Then, out of curiosity, I tested a TriMet bus ticket. It passed the test!! I was, and still am, very surprised. Why would the paper used for bus tickets pass a counterfeit currency ink test?!
