Codi and I drove out to Argyle Winery again today. They have a new Syrah (a.k.a. Shiraz) that is really amazing. It’s not being released for sale in stores (it’ll be sold only at the tasting room and to Argyle Clubhouse Members) so I wanted to get a case. Thanks to the ever popular Mike Randolph, author of the Randolph WineBlog, I was able to score the first case.

Even though I want to keep this Syrah for a few years, I had to open a bottle. It’s awesome! Such a rich flavor, dark dark ruby color, deep flavor, but not overpowering in any way. Five minutes later, however, I started feeling quite warm and a little mellow. The Syrah’s a bit ‘effective’, but thankfully it happens to be camouflaged by a very comfortable mouthfeel. I give it an A+.
