DUCKS AND GEESE IN LAKE OSWEGO

Here in Lake Oswego we have a really healthy population of ducks and geese that live on the lake and down by the Willamette River. Codi and I feed them as often as we can – Salteen crackers, bread, cereal, etc. There are a few ducks and geese that have gotten to know us (or at least they recognize the smell of our fresh bread) and they eat right out of our hands now.

EAGLE CREEK AND MT. HOOD

Codi and I checked out oregonstateparks.org today to find a good place for a short day trip. We found some info on Bonny Lure State Park, which is about 45 mins from our house. It sounded cool, so we drove all the way out there only to find that Bonny Lure is a very small fishing spot no larger than a football field in length. Bummer. But we did drive around a bit more and found a really beautiful view of Mt. Hood and I got a great photo.

MONSTER TRUCK JAM – YEEEEEE HAAWWW!

Ok, I have to admit – I’ve never, ever thought of going to a Monster Truck Jam – ever – but for some reason I got the crazy idea that it’d be a hoot. So Codi, a friend Joe and I went to the Rose Garden and checked it out. Aside from the really odd smells we encountered and some particularly interesting outfits worn by attendees, the Monster Truck Jam was a worthy waste… uh, I mean, use of an evening. The engines were louder than any thrash metal concert and there was an acrid smell of jet fuel lingering in the air. Who knew jet fuel could smell so good?!

ZEPPO ITALIAN RESTAURANT

Anyone who lives in the Portland area needs to go to Zeppo - an Italian restaurant in downtown Lake Oswego. It’s in the new Lakeside Village center, and it’s amazing. The food is totally unique and sooo soo good. The service is great and best of all, it’s really inexpensive! Give it a try! Doug and Patrick (owner and manager, respectively) will make sure you have a great meal!
